“School – Student – Parent: The Foundation of a Successful Academic Year”
Every stage of a child’s development brings new changes, new responsibilities, and new opportunities.
The period from Grades 5 to 8 is particularly important: a child’s character develops, their personal opinions become clearer, and they begin striving for greater independence. At this stage, children especially need understanding, support, and trust from both their school and their parents.
Our school held a general parent meeting for the parents of students in Grades 5–8.
During the meeting, important topics were discussed, including cooperation between the school and families, student discipline and responsibility for learning, safety, and psychological support.
Speaking on the topic “Shared Values – Shared Responsibility – Shared Results,” the school principal emphasised that cooperation between the school and parents is the foundation of a child’s successful development.
School psychologist M. Arshagül offered parents useful advice on building positive relationships with teenagers, listening to and understanding them, showing trust, and providing emotional support.
A child’s success is not measured by grades alone. Their self-confidence, sense of responsibility, ability to adapt socially, and goals for the future are equally important.
Sometimes, before giving advice, we need to listen; before making demands, we need to understand; and before doubting, we need to believe in the child.
When the school and parents move in the same direction, the child can confidently find their own path.
Let us support them together. Guide them together. Lead them towards success together!
